I designed and built this to serve two purposes. Not only does it hold a lot of books, but, combined with the television and my desk, it separates the basement into two sections. It is rather unique in that it hangs from the ceiling, I needed to cover an odd shaped space that did not extend to the floor, and this seemed to be the only solution. Another unique feature is a register in the top left corner. I connected this to the heating and air conditioning duct about six feet behind the shelves. The whole thing has worked quite nicely. I built the desk too, but it was from a kit.
